About the Lawsuit
David L. Wallace and Perry R. Sanders, Jr., experienced Louisiana trial lawyers, started to gather information when they learned of contamination in DeRidder, by filing a class action 6 years ago in Federal Court in Lake Charles, on behalf of current property owners and people who had more likely than not been exposed to something toxic from the contaminated areas. The case was stopped for years because of a bankruptcy by two of the companies they sued, and other procedural matters, during which time, Wallace and Sanders teamed up with and associated some of the best and brightest attorneys from several states, who have helped get to the bottom of how the creosote plant operated from 1955-1997 and what people who had signed up with Wallace and Sanders, were likely exposed to. Only within the last 6-9 months have the proper documents and witnesses been made available for the team to figure out (with the help of air and water modeling experts) what community members were likely exposed to during that time frame.
